http://www.iop.org/Conferences/Forthcoming_Institute_Conferences/PMB2008/event_26824.html
13 Jul 2008 - 16 Jul 2008

St. Catherines College, Oxford, United Kingdom

Biologically inspired Physics is an extraordinarily wide field, covering systems that vary in scale from single molecular machines to organisms and even ecosystems. Physics Meets Biology will provide a broad view of the most recent and exciting research across a broad range of topics, including: signalling, control, noise; molecular motors and cyto-skeletal mechanics; biomolecular self-assembly; bionanotechnology and biomolecular electronics and photonics. The conference is organised around an international programme of invited speakers and will include contributed talks and poster sessions. Its state-of-the-art research coverage is designed to inform experts of the latest developments; it will also provide a valuable introduction to biophysical research for junior researchers, including graduate students. Physics Meets Biology is the inaugural conference of the Biological Physics Group of the Institute of Physics.
