Physics in Primary Schools Workshop: Fun primary level physics for you to take into schools
21 May 2008 Would you like to inspire children with the excitement of physics? Then do come to the workshop on 21st May at IOP London. The Physicists in Primary Schools team, from the University of Sheffield has EPSRC funding and has developed 10 fun presentations for scientists to take into primary schools. Each presentation is free to download from the Institute of Physics website www.iop.org and supports the teaching of physics at Key Stage 1 and 2 with demonstrations, games and activities. Feedback is excellent, emphasising that presenters have fun as well as the children. During the session numerous activities will be demonstrated, techniques explained and you try experiments yourself. This free workshop is for all who are interested, with or without previous experience. To register for this workshop, please contact the WIPG Honorary Secretary, Nicola Wilkin, at n.k.wilkin@bham.ac.uk. For more information and details of future workshops near you, please see the website: http://www.iop.org/activity/outreach/Resources/Physicists_and_Primary_Schools_Project/page_5784.html. This event is organised in partnership with the Women in Physics Group: http://ioppublishing.com/activity/groups/professional/wip/index.html. |
