Nanoscale and Single Molecule Mechanics
14 Jul 2008 Co-sponsored by the IOP Nanoscale Physics and Technology Group and the IOP Thin Films and Surfaces Group “This one day meeting will focus on the latest advances in nanoscale and single molecule mechanics, featuring talks from many outstanding scientists working in this exciting sub-field of nanoscience. A key motivation for the event is to bring together the community of researchers who work on solution-phase machines with those whose research involves the study of molecular and nanoscale mechanics under ultrahigh vacuum conditions. Despite dramatic differences in the experimental conditions, there exist important concepts that bridge both communities and which can be exploited in next-generation nanoscale and molecular machines."
