Continuing the historical links between Music and Astronomy into the Astrophysics and Cosmology of the 21st Century, the talk will show some ways in which astronomical data can be turned into sound and used as an early stepping-stone or inspiration for large-scale compositions. Utilising Western classical compositional style within an "acousmatic" music structure, new directions in both music and the connections between science and art will be explored.
